Bongawan Wildlife & Firefly Evening Itinerary
- 2:00 PM – Pickup & Departure (Between 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM): Meet your driver or coordinator for hotel or homestay collection. Vehicle registration numbers will be provided in advance, and your driver/coordinator will contact you directly before pickup on the day of the tour. The overland journey to Bongawan takes approximately 1 hour.
- 3:30 PM – Jetty Welcome & Refreshments: Arrive at the river jetty where you will be greeted with traditional local welcome snacks and refreshments while surrounded by tranquil nature.
- 4:00 PM – Afternoon Wildlife River Safari: Step aboard the river boat for an exciting safari excursion. Keep your eyes sharp along the riverbanks to spot iconic local fauna, including playful proboscis monkeys and native birds in their natural sanctuary.
- 5:15 PM – Sunset & Mirror Beach Experience: Stop by the coastal shores near the wetlands to capture stunning reflection photos and memorable group snapshots against the golden hour evening sky.
- 6:00 PM – Buffet Dinner: Return to the riverside center to indulge in a hearty, authentic Malay-style dinner served hot.
- 6:30 PM – Magical Firefly Night Cruise: As night falls, glide back out onto the calm river waters to experience the breathtaking spectacle of thousands of glowing fireflies lighting up the mangrove tree branches like twinkling holiday lights.
- 7:30 PM – Return Journey & Drop-Off: Conclude your evening excursion and enjoy a comfortable transfer back to your Kota Kinabalu hotel. Tour concludes upon arrival.
